Project Description:
Along with the development of economic condition and the improvement of living standard, more and more people pay attention to their dwelling environment around their cities. Nowadays, an increasing number of cities aim to build a livable city, or say an eco-city, for their residents. The building of an eco-city would involve a great variety of aspects in a city, including nature, economy, society, culture and so on. The objective is to pursuit the harmonic development in all these aspects. The construction of eco-city is inseparable from the government to understand and grasp the related national policies and pubic opinions, to learn and draw the advanced technology and experience, and to discover and solve the emergent events and problems. Thus, this requires the government to be timely aware of as much as helpful, referential and valuable information. With such rich information, the government could make the scientific judgment and make the right decision. To meet such requirements, the government expects to build an integrated information platform, in order to collect, manage search and share the information.
On the other hand, for building an eco-city, it is also indispensable to explore some important issues, such as city planning, transportation, water management, carbon emission management, waste management and food safety etc. The in-depth study of these issues provide necessary technical guarantee in building an eco-city, and helps the government to achieve some qualitative and/or quantitative norms of an eco-city. Notably, these issues are also in great need of information support for their research.
With the requirement from the above two aspects, we need to set up an integrated platform of information support and service for the government to build an ecological city. More specifically, we could hold the great idea of “Information as a Service” throughout the building of information platform. On the one hand, we provide powerful information support for the government to make good and right decisions in blooding eco-city, and also provide necessary information support for the research issues; on the other hand, we provide useful, helpful and practical information services for the inhabitants to live better in an eco-city, and also put eco-intelligence into the market and deliver profitable information services from the rising markets.
Technical goals:
1. Make a professional and effective customer survey for building an information platform; Write a professional white paper.
2. Develop prototype demos based on some small ideas, and demonstrate the potential and value of these ideas for customers.
Business goals:
1. Build effective commutation ways with the corresponding government departments, and build good relationship with the customers.
2. Accumulate experience to communicate with the government officers, and promote such experience for more communication in the future.
For this Extreme Blue project, we are looking for:
Business Interns--- 3 interns
- Experience in business and market analysis;
- Skilled in communication.
Technical Interns--- 2 interns
- Open mind and quick learning;
- Master C/C++, Java and Web Services;
- Experience in developing a information platform, better with some knowledge of text analytics, data mining and information retrieval.
